All i can say is Wow! This tent is absolutely amazing. Simple to set up and just as easy to take down. I have been in Boy Scouts as a leader for many years and I have never had a tent that was so simple. What surprised me the most was the amount of room that was inside. This is truly a two-person tent. I used the tent this past weekend at our boy scout campout; all of the boys were intrigued by the hiking poles I used as tent poles. I am going to Philmont in June and this is the tent I will be taking. If you are looking for a great backpacking tent, look no further.

Don't let the price scare you away. This is a great tent. I have an expensive, more conventional, one person hiking tent and I prefer this one.

The material is thick enough that it could be a 4 season tent. The wind resistance and ability to stand up to snow would depend on how well you can stake it out. If the ground is such that the stakes will hold it is rock solid. If you can't stake it, due to ground too hard or soft, then that would be a problem. If you can guy it to two trees than it will be rock solid. I've used it in cold weather and the lack of "ventilation" (read: draft) at the ground level is great. You could leave the front flaps open (and the screening zipped to avoid insects) and open the back vents and it would get that desired draft in the summer.

Just got back from a 4-day hiking/camping trip on Mount Hood and the tent worked great. Easy to set up, lightweight and a true 2-person tent. Comparing it to my former tent (Big Agnes Fly Creek UL 2), this tent is about the same weight, significantly larger and around 1/6th the cost. I don't know how it performs in the rain since it didn't rain, but the fabric appears waterproof and I like the bathtub at the bottom. Zippers all worked well. Because of its pup-tent design and the fabric they use, it's quite noisy under windy conditions but that didn't bother me. If comparing weight to other UL tents, keep in mind this one doesn't have any poles (you use your trekking poles) Great tent that I needed for a short-notice hiking trip. Glad I bought it.

I just received the tent in the mail and had to try setting it up in the backyard to see if it lived up to expectations. I was very impressed with how light and simple it was to put together. I've been looking at tents that would accommodate me and all my gear and this one fit the bill perfectly. I thought it would be easy to find ultralight tents that used trekking poles as a way to save weight, but market selection is pretty limited, especially at this price point.

Setup was a breeze! And breakdown and stowing it back in the provided storage bag was just as easy. Stakes are metal and relatively heavy, so I plan to replace them with aluminum or composite stakes to save some weight. If you're looking for a no frills 2-man or 1-man + gear tent, I don't see how you can go wrong.

Very Ultralight tent. Well made, good quality for the price. My 9 year old son and I used it backpacking in Yosemite. We had plenty of room. I am 5'10" and weigh 170lbs. Definately recommend keeping doors open otherwise you will get lots of condensation build up on the inside and your sleeping bag will get soaked. Just keep the mesh screen closed. I made that mistake the 1st night. Also the tent stakes are heavy duty but a little on the heavy side weighing in at 1oz each, so I got ultralight aluminum stakes that weigh 0.5 ounce and uses only 6 stakes instead of the 11 that it came with to lighten my load. Definately Recommend

This tent is very easy to set up, is made from high-quality material and is waterproof. As with any tent, you can expect condensation inside of you are in a humid environment. This tent is well made and fits easily into even the smallest of backpacks. You simply cannot beat the price on this great piece of gear, it is much nicer than the big name brand ones I own, but costs only a fraction of the price. This is a must have piece of equipment for any camping enthusiast or survivalist.

I am absolutely in LOVE with this tent. As an avid backpacker and camper, I really wanted to find a compact, lightweight, classic A frame tent, and this tent delivered on everything I wanted. It folds up to be about the same size as a large water bottle, it from what I can tell completely waterproof, is built very well and sets up in under 5 minutes. I personally used a felled sapling or small tree for my poles because I don't believe in trekking poles. And it stands up to the rain and wind and cold excellently. I used this several times now, once on an overnight camping trip in the mountains, and that night it dropped to well below freezing, and I stayed nice and toasty in a 30 degree bag, it traps heat very well from what I can tell. I stood against the frost very well, and was easy to take down. Surprisingly roomy, fits two people of average stature very comfortably, or one person and a frame pack in my case. I also took it elk hunting in Montana, and it stood up to the high winds and snow quite easily. All in all, this tent is amazing, and it didn't break a sweat after all I put it through. 100% wholeheartedly recommend.

So glad I tested this at home! I unrolled it and staked down the corners. Then upon finding the tab for the trekking pole, I discovered it was literally hanging by a thread. There was a single piece of thread dangling between tent and the tab with grommet. It fell off in my hand. I got to test my new headlamp also while sewing the tab on before I could set tent up.

Update: I've now had this tent the better part of the year and used it more than a dozen times. It's holding up very well and I'm still in love with it. I've gotten over (or fixed) most of my complaints below. The one thing I'd still love to see improved is the lack of a window. I would absolutely pay a few bucks and an ounce or two more to get a small coverable window at each end.

I really liked that I could use my trekking poles for this tent as it meant I could lighten up my load and have multi use items such as my poles. The set up was extremely easy (I was also surprised with the quality of the stakes - great job team! They're light , durable, and can pierce the hard dirt). What most impressed me though was how easy it was to pack up this tent. I am able to fold it flat for my trips out and put it on the bottom of my backpack and on my way back I can roll it up and strap it to the side! I haven't been able to do that before with other tents.

It is lighter, bigger (in width, height, and head room), and packs smaller. 2 people could easily sleep in it as it is actually bigger than most 2 person hiking tents (but they would need to keep their gear outside). It is a quick set up and quick pack up as it is basically rectangular and so folds and rolls easily. It is constructed of a heavy material, which is good since it does not use a rain fly (but easily could).

I bought this tent to take up to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, and I am really glad that I did. It was supposed to be a 3 night trek through several lakes, but Spring turned into Winter as we gained elevation, and at Lake Ethel we were bombarded with a windstorm with gusts of up to 60mph. All night, this thing was rocked. Only once did a stake and pole come loose, but I do not blame the tent for this. The ground was extremely soft from recent snow melt. Once I placed large rocks around, it held up fine. Unfortunately, just so we didn't die, we went back down the mountain after the 1 night so this review is based on only one use.

I received this tent in the mail Friday evening. I took it out and set it up in the living room to get a feel for it and used dining room chairs for the "tent poles" and it set up easily. I then took the tent out and set it up Saturday using branches for the tent poles. This tent is very easy to set up. I did use a tube of seam sealer around the tent. Even though it is taped on the inside to prevent moisture from coming in, I don't mind going the extra mile to make sure I stay dry. As mentioned above in other comments, when inside the tent and looking towards the corners, you can see two small holes where the threads were punched through. Each corner got an extra dab of seam sealer in these areas to prevent moisture from coming in. Although it did not rain Saturday night, it did drizzle most of the night with 5 to 12 mile per hour winds. The winds nor the rain were very strong but we stayed very dry. I have no complaints and strongly recommended this tent for a single person with gear or two people with minimum gear. As there is not a vestiable, you will need to store gear in a dry place if it will not fit inside the tent with you.

It took up very little room in my 38L backpack and didn't add much weight. Even the REI employees approved of the size and weight for my pack. I set it up as a test on a very windy day, and it took me 12 minutes the first time (as half of it was up the hiking pole fell because of an error on my part). I was convinced the strong gusts would bring it down especially the hiking poles, but it actually stayed once I anchored everything. Setup was much more easier and quicker the second time while I was backpacking. The tent fit two people and a 65-lb dog, and we still had about a foot and a half in between the sleeping pads. Some condensation did gather by the morning time but the drops weren't dripping onto us or the inside of the tent.

I've done summer fishing trips with this and just finished a below-zero winter weekend in Upstate NY with this tent. It has impressed me in all conditions. Plenty of airflow when you want it or none if you don't. It is incredibly light and when paired with some nite-ize fasteners, I can set this thing up in the woods quickly and securely for very little additional weight.

I tested this product in my backyard due to Covid-19 precautions. I like is that it's roomy enough for one person and also two people. I think it's a good temporary tent for people who don't camp very often, but due to condensation and venting concerns - I would not take this tent with me backpacking or out in the rain. It will serve best as a tent for summer/spring and on short camping trips. The major issue I have with this tent is that it relies strictly on soil and dirt to be staked down and sturdy. I could not set this tent up safely and with durability on wood, cement, or in areas without dirt. This tent is the best option I have found for an inexpensive price if you want something lightweight without a skeleton or poles...but do make sure your outdoor trips will suit what this tent is virtually designed to do. I will be using this tent as a back-up for emergencies therefore it fits my criteria.

Overall, I think this tent is everything I expected it to be, and I like it a lot for its price. I just wish the poles didn't have to go in upside down. Dirt did gather on my pole handles, but it eventually came off. Also, beware that if a dog or a human trips over the guy line holding the door it may rip a little at the seams. Our dog tripped a few times but only once did it rip at that front, so I'm not sure if it was because the seams were already weak there. But customer service was amazing and they were able to replace the tent.

I picked this up at and for the price this has been an amazing tent! I have taken it on two backpacking trips so far, with a third coming up in a few weeks.
The price was what drew me in and write it off as an inexpensive tent that I would probably get a couple seasons out of, however I have been really surprised at how much I like this tent and seems like it will last quite a bit longer.

We took this tent to Havasupai Falls in May and it worked out great! It rained on us 3 of the 4 days but we stayed dry. We did end up apply a waterproofing before the trip just to be safe. It was a little tight getting in and out of the tent because it is small and the nature of the design put the primary support (hiking pole) right in the middle of the doorway. However, once inside it is spacious and my wife and I were very comfortable. The tie lines on the sides really help open it up inside. I wish there was a door on both ends to help with ventilation. There us a small vent but air didn't move through very well. We got a little bit of condensation but not too bad. I would definitely recommend this tent and look forward to taking it on many more trips!
